One of the main purchasing costs for Bulgarian property, the Land Tax and Notary Fee, is set to increase from the start of next year by an expected 20%. It is advisable for those who are in the process of purchasing a property to complete before the end of this year to avoid the new raise in the tax.
The land tax and Notary fees are paid by the purchasers in a Bulgarian property transaction and is similar to the UK version of stamp duty.
