This unique property is in the Bulgarian register of buildings of National importance. About 350 years old and now fully restored at great expense to its former glory, it will make a fascinating and comfortable base for your skiing or summer hill walking in the mountains close by.
Sit on the soft armchairs on the raised and carpeted "Court platform" in the large first floor reception area and imagine the Turkish Lord dispensing swift justice" to the supplicants kneeling before him. Take the sun out in the stone paved courtyard, under the blossom cherry and daydream of times past.
The Lord's House has been restored using traditional materials and techniques, preserving its unique historical features. It has also been equipped with modern facilities, such as modern kitchen, to ensure your comfort during your stay. Accommodation for 7.
The original ancient features have been preserved. Sleep in the Pasha's bedroom, surrounded by centuries old wood carved panelling and look up at the extravagantly ornate wooden ceilings. See the original Turkish sauna that served as a heater for the whole house. Now, modern gas central heating is throught.
Not all the house is in the old style. The former storage area on the ground floor has been converted into a modern living room with feature fireplace, kitted out with new furniture and widescreen TV. There's a brand new bathroom & WC downstairs and a shower room & WC upstairs.
Outside, there's a south facing courtyard paved in natural stone, with parking. A lovely place to sit in the sun.
Accommodation
Downstairs, through the double entrance doors, there is a entrance hallway. Off left from this is the large dining kitchen, with fitted kitchen and dining table. An exit from this area leads to the back door and ancient (non functioning) sauna, and washing machine.
Off right from the entrance hallway, is the modern living room, with cable TV. The downstairs bathroom is also accessed from the entrance hall.
Upstairs, up the stairs from the entrance hall, is the large central reception area, the end part of which by the bay windows is the raised Court platform, separated from the rest of the area by a wooden rail.
This reception area has a twin bed sofa in it. The shower room and other bedrooms lead off it. 2 doubles and 2 singles. Please note that due to the historic design of this house, one of the singles is accessed through a double. Sleeps 7.
Ideal location
The Lord's house is right in the middle of the town of Samokov - the gateway to the Bulgarian "Alps", the Rila mountains. You can see one of the Borovets ski slopes from an upstairs window, about 9kms away. A short journey in one of the many local yellow cab.
Being in Samakov town gives the opportunity to see and do things not available in the resorts "Village" at Borovets. Shop for bargains, visit the Samokov Convent and other ancient buildings, drop in to local bars and restaurants - there's even one next door to the Lord's house.

Tariff & Booking
The Lord's House in Samokov sleeps 7 and the following rates are for the use of the whole property for one week *, and includes pick up/return from Sofia Airport and services of House Manager.
House Manager
To make sure you get the most from your holiday, we will provide a House Manager to provide support. Living close buy, he will pick you up and return you to Sofia Airport. During your stay, he is on hand to advise and assist.
