Kukeri festivals - the colorful festival "New Year's Day in Bansko and Razlog" is celebrated with the rituals performed by the kukeri (traditional dancers dressed in costumes of feather and fur with copper sheep bells on the belt who scare the evel spirits away through their dances), horo (a traditional circle dance with people dancing hand in hand). Each two neighborhoods in Bansko has its own kukeri group. The town of Razlog participate in the festival with its 5 kukeri groups.
Bansko Jazz Festival - The International Jazz Festival in Bansko is one of the biggest and most prestigious musical events in Bulgaria. It is being traditionally held every year from 8 of August to 13 of August. During a period of six nights the famous resort becomes the capital of jazz. Thousands of people get together at the central town square where an open-air festival stage is built.
